HC Deb 09 May 1977 vol 931 c369W
Mr. Sainsbury

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what items will be discussed at the next meeting of the Council of Environmental Ministers of the European Community; and when this meeting will take place.

Mr. Shore

The agenda for the next meeting of the Council of Ministers (Environment) has not yet been settled but it will include the items remitted from the last Council held in December—that is, the draft directives on wastes from the titanium dioxide and paper pulp industries and on the quality of drinking water. The meeting is likely to take place in mid-June but a precise date has not yet been fixed.

Mr. Sainsbury

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he intends to take the chair at the next meeting of the Council of Environment Ministers of the European Community.

Mr. Shore

Yes.
