HC Deb 09 May 1977 vol 931 c372W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if arrangements for export subsidies for butter exported to non-EEC States have been reinstated; and what is the expected level of subsidy per pound for exports under those arrangements.

Mr. Bishop

Export subsidies are available for butter exported from the EEC, but continue to be subject to surveillance by the European Commission in cases where advance fixing is sought to safeguard contracts for the supply of significant quantities. The current rate of subsidy for butter exported from the United Kingdom is about 28 pence per pound.
