asked Her Majesty's Government:

The number, nationality and type of fishing vessels which have been apprehended within British Fishery limits since 1st January 1977; on what dates they were apprehended; whether they had failed to observe British and NEAFC regulations, and what penalties have been imposed.

During the period 1st January to 30th April 1977 the 11 foreign fishing vessels listed below were convicted of offences against British Sea Fisheries legislation, including that giving effect to NEAFC recommendations, committed while they were within British Fishery limits. In addition, following harbour boardings by Fisheries Departments' Inspectors, 16 British vessels have been reported for alleged infringements of conservation orders and further action is being considered. Sea Fisheries Committees of England and Wales are responsible for enforcing their own bye-laws (and have limited powers to enforce certain national fisheries legislation) but details of convictions secured by these Committees are not available.
