§ Mr. John Garrettasked the Lord President of the Council if he will make a statement about the use by Parliament of accommodation in the Norman Shaw (South) building.
§ Mr. FootI have recently informed the Services Committee on the Government's behalf that Ministers agree with the view that the Norman Shaw (South) building should be made available for the use of the House, and that the Government are prepared to make £200,000 at current prices over the years 1977–78 and 1978–79 available for the provision there of additional accommodation for Members. The Services Committee are at present considering the allocation of that accommodation. The possible use of space in this building in connection with the permanent sound broadcasting of parliamentary proceedings is also under consideration.
