§ 23. Mr. Hefferasked the Secretary of State for Employment what further action he is taking to bring down the level of unemployment on Merseyside.
§ Mr. GoldingMerseyside will continue to benefit from the special measures which the Government have introduced to alleviate unemployment and which have so far benefited nearly 24,000 persons on Merseyside. In addition I would expect the area to benefit from the small firms employment subsidy, the job introduction scheme and the extension of the temporary employment subsidy which my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced on 29th March.
