Mr. Robin F. Cook

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the Scottish component of Table 2.7 of Command Paper 6721-II;

(2) if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing a detailed breakdown of the changes announced in Scottish housing expenditure on 22nd July and 15th December 1976 for 1977–78 and 1978–79 at 1976 survey prices;

(3) if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing a breakdown of estimate of the total costs incurred in administering parental contributions to student grants as currently operated in the United Kingdom.

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science for each year since 1960, what was the maintenance allowance for a single student outside London other than at Oxford or Cambridge; and what was the value of the allowance for each year in real terms as a percentage of the value in 1960.

The information is given below for students on first degree and comparable courses at universities and further education establishments in Great Britain:

Scottish Special Housing Association investment and Scottish new towns investment in Table 2.7 of Command Paper No. 6721-II into new dwellings, land and improvements;

(4) if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the estimated average weekly council house rent and the total rental income in Scotland in each year from 1976–77 to 1979–80 and the estimated total and average central Government subsidy and rate fund contribution to housing revenue accounts for each of those years.
