HC Deb 03 May 1977 vol 931 cc167-8W
Mr. Stanbrook

asked the Secretary of State for Employment why the pay code forbids the reimbursement by employers of increases in car parking charges for employees who are obliged to use private transport by the nature of their work.

Mr. Harold Walker

The introduction of arrangements to reimburse increased car parking charges, where these were not previously reimbursed, would be an improvement in terms and conditions of employment which in accordance with the pay guidelines should be contained within the overall pay limit.
