HC Deb 02 May 1977 vol 931 c80W
Mr. Gwynfor Evans

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what amounts per head are attributable to national savings in England, Scotland and Wales, respectively, in 1976.

Mr. Denzil Davies

Separate net national savings figures for England, Scotland and Wales are not available, but the amount of net savings for the whole of the United Kingdom in 1976, excluding accrued interest, was £294.7 million, equal to about £5.26 per head of the whole population.
