Mr. Wyn Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Wales (1) how much land has been acquired by the Land Authority for Wales during the first year of operation and at what cost (a) per acre and (b) in total;

(2) how much land has been sold by the Land Authority for Wales during its first year of operation and at what price (a) per acre and (b) in total;

(3) how many staff have been appointed by the Land Authority for Wales during its first year of operation and at what total annual cost inclusive of salaries, expenses and pensions;

(4) what profit or loss has been made by the Land Authority for Wales during its first year of operation.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what has been the total allocation of funds from all sources to the Land Authority for Wales during its first year of operation.

Mr. Alec Jones

During 1976–77 sums totalling £2.105 million were made available to the Land Authority for Wales by the Government. In addition the Authority was empowered to borrow £0.25 million from other sources.
