§ Mr. Simsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science which teacher training colleges offer, or plan to offer, part-time courses for the diploma in health education for serving teachers; and which of these colleges would be affected by the closure proposals put forward by her.
§ Mr. OakesNone at present offers such a course on a part-time basis, but proposals are under consideration for part-time courses at the City of Birmingham Polytechnic, Bromley Institute of Higher Education, Hertfordshire College of Higher Education, Ilkley College and Kingston Polytechnic. The proposals for the future of the teacher training system announced by my right hon. Friend envisage that initial teacher training should cease at Bromley Institute of Higher Education.
