How and why responsibility for the "inner city" is divided between Departments.

The PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY of STATE, DEPARTMENT of the ENVIRONMENT (Baroness Birk)

The policies and expenditure programmes of many Departments are involved in the improvement of the inner cities and, while the Secretary of State for the Environment takes the lead in co-ordination, other Ministers have responsibilities in their own fields.
