Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will list the capitation allowance made by each education authority in the North-West of England for each pupil in special schools, primary schools and secondary schools for the most recent three years for which figures are available.
§ Miss Margaret JacksonMy Department has no responsibility for determining school capitation allowances, and does not require local education authorities to submit information about the levels of allowance which they make. Details of individual LEAs expenditure on supplies and services are published annually by the Society of County Treasurers and Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy in "Education Estimates Statistics" which is available in the Library.
