§ 52. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what action he took upon receiving the resolution of the Presbytery of Tyrone dated 7th December 1976, in which those members of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland called upon Her Majesty's Government to change their course and use every means available at their disposal to quell terrorism.
§ Mr. MasonI arranged for a full reply to be sent to the Presbytery of Tyrone on my behalf. It was informed that I shared its abhorrence of terrorist violence, and that there was no lack of determination on the part of the Government to root our those responsible. It was told of the RUC's successes in bringing terrorists612W before the courts and assured that although there were no obvious gaps in the law its application was kept under continuous review.
