HC Deb 24 March 1977 vol 928 c623W
Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish a list of the Acts of Parliament for whose administration he is responsible from which the police are statutorily excluded.

Mr. Harold Walker

The Acts from which the police service is totally excluded are the Employment Protection Act 1975, the Contracts of Employment Act 1972, the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974, and, except for Chief Constables, the Redundancy Payments Act 1965.

In addition, they are excluded from the main provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 in so far as these relate to employees.
