§ Mr. MasonDespite the continuing violence which has claimed 36 lives, including seven policemen, four soldiers, and three members of the UDR since the beginning of the year, the security forces are continuing to arrest criminals engaged in terrorist activity and bring them before the courts. So far this year a total of 249 people have been charged with terrorist offences, including 17 for murder, 33 for attempted murder, 65 for firearms offences, and 28 for explosives offences.
