§ Mr. GoldingWithout compelling employers to notify vacancies it is not possible to compile statistics of this kind, although vacancies already notified to the careers service and the employment service agency (ESA) do give a broad indication of the numbers involved. The careers service, in conjunction with the ESA, is planning to collect information on the number of young people entering apprenticeships, and this should become available within about the next 18 months.
