HL Deb 17 March 1977 vol 381 cc227-8WA
Lord HYLTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What are the possible dangers from French nuclear developments in the Cotentin peninsula, of which the Guernsey Parliament was recently informed; when Home Office consideration of these risks is likely to be completed; and whether the resulting assessment will be published.

Lord HARRIS of GREENWICH

The Guernsey authorities (and also those in Jersey) have asked Her Majesty's Government for an assessment of any possible danger from nearby French nuclear installations. Replies will be sent to the Island authorities as soon as possible, and publication will be considered in consultation with them.

House adjourned at twenty-four minutes before eight-o'clock.
