HC Deb 15 March 1977 vol 928 c136W
Mr. Gow

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what is her latest estimate of the amount of aid being given by the United Kingdom to Uganda and to Mozambique during each of the two years ending 5th April 1978; and whether she will give a breakdown of such aid.

Mrs. Hart

Uganda receives no aid from the United Kingdom except supplementation payments to 10 British personnel employed by the Ugandan authorities under a commitment predating the suspension of aid in 1972. These are estimated to cost about £40,000 a year up to 5th April 1978. Disbursements from the £5 million programme loan to Mozambique are expected to be substantial in 1977–78, and disbursements from the £10 million commitment to project aid will arise as project allocations are approved.
