§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many letters the Television Licence Records Office has received from people in Wales, by county, if available, about (a) the use of the Welsh language, (b) the lack of the use of the Welsh language, and (c) the format of bilingual forms used by that Office;
(2) approximately how many people in Wales receive bilingual forms from the Television Licence Records Office in any one year;
(3) how many forms issued by the Television Licence Records Office in Bristol are (a) bilingual and (b) in English only; and if he will list them by their titles and serial numbers.
§ Mr. JohnIn 1976 the National Television Licence Records Office (NTVLRO) received some 400 letters from people in Wales about the use of the Welsh language in forms, none about its lack of use, and one about the format of bilingual forms. Records are not kept of the county of origin of such letters. All households in Wales are sent bilingual forms by the NTVLRO and over 1 million people in Wales were sent them in 1976. There are seven such forms, all of which are in both a bilingual and an English-only style. Their titles and serial numbers are as follows:
