HC Deb 15 March 1977 vol 928 cc161-2W
Mr. Geraint Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his present policy with regard to the replacement of inferior and inadequate school buildings in Wales; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Barry Jones

Within the resources now available for school building, piority has to be given to meeting basic need in areas where pupil numbers are rising. Limited provision is also made in the school building programme for the replacement and improvement of old premises and for the special needs of handicapped children and those of nursery age.
