ing Services Agency (TSA), and the list below shows TSA skillcentres expected to be operating in April 1977, together with the local authority districts in which they are situated and the latest—1974—official estimates of population. It should be borne in mind that the effective catchment area of each centre, as measured by places within daily travelling distance, is normally much wider than the district. Moreover, in the case of Greater London, the extent to which trainees travel to other parts of the conurbation makes it misleading to show any figures for individual London boroughs.

Notes:
1. * Ipswich skillcentre was handed over to TSA on 15th December 1976 but a training start will not be made until early April 1977.
2. The Letter (A) by the name of a skillcentre indicates that training is also carried out in a separate Annexe. A few of these are situated in other local authority districts.
