§ Mr. Robert SheldonStamp duty is not chargeable on all house transfers but only on those with a value above £15,000, and reduced rates are charged on transfers up to a value of £30,000. Suggestions are made from time to time for further relief, but I cannot comment on my right hon. Friend's intentions in that regard in advance of his Budget Statement.
