Mr. Rooker

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will ensure that his Department is represented at all tax planning conferences held in 1977.

Mr. Robert Sheldon,

pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 8th March 1977; Vol. 927], gave the following information:

The Inland Revenue has sent representatives to tax planning conferences where it seemed useful to do so and they will continue this practice.

Mr. Rooker

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will ensure that his Department is represented at the Tax Havens Conference to be held in London during May.

Mr. Corbett

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will consider sending an official from his Department to a conference being run in London on llth12th May 1977 organised by the School of Business Administration in view of the subject of tax evasion being discussed at that conference.

No. The published syllabus of the conference does not suggest that it would be worth the expenditure of public money.
