Chrysler United Kingdom Limited has made a planning agreement within the meaning of Section 21(2) of the Industry Act 1975".I welcome this agreement, which marks a further step forward in the relations between Chrysler and the Government. I am particularly pleased with the way in which the company has involved its employees in the preparation of this agreement. I believe this has made a real contribution to a better understanding between management and workers. Moreover, consultation does not stop at the agreement, but will continue on a firm basis as plans and policies evolve and change. These discussions add a new and valuable dimension to the relationship between the company and Government following our decision to assist Chrysler.
