§ Mr. Moyle£229 million and £332 million, England, in the financial years 1965–66 and 1975–76, the latest year for which information is available. These figures cover expenditure on drugs in the hospital services and in the pharmaceutical services. They exclude fees and allowances paid to pharmacists and doctors for dispensing; disregard income from prescription charges, which were not levied in 1965–66, and take account of the movement in the Wholesale Prices Index for products of manufacturing industries, other than food, drink and tobacco.
