§ Mr. MaclennanFor some weeks after the entry into force of the new arrangements, the situation was complicated by the action of the bread deliverymen. Nevertheless preliminary information about the prices of bread in major shopping centres indicates that in the five weeks from 9th January about 66 per cent. of urban supermarkets had bread at prices 3p or more below the statutory maximum, compared with 44 per cent. in the eight weeks up to Christmas.
