§ Mr. Wigginasked the Secretary of State for Transport how many lives and serious injuries might have been saved between 1st March 1976 and 1st March 1977 if it had been compulsory to wear a seat belt in the front seat of all appropriate vehicles.
§ Mr. HoramIt is estimated that up to 1,000 lives and more than 10,000 serious injuries might be saved each year if all available seat belts were worn.
