§ Mr. Roy Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she is proposing any new legislation fully to implement proposals contained in the White Paper "Sport and Recreation" of August 1975, including the proposal for the dual use of school and recreational facilities.
§ Miss Margaret JacksonI see no need for legislation, as educational establishments with facilities appropriate for joint use are already widely made available to the public by education authorities. Many newer facilities, such as sport and community centres, are now jointly provided by education authorities and other bodies for the mutual benefit of both school and community.
