§ Mr. Roperasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if the Government will make a contribution to the annual endowment of the European Youth Foundation in respect of 1978; and whether this contribution 290W will be in accordance with the apportionment laid down in Resolution (72)23 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and the decision taken at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of the European Youth Foundation on 17th December 1976.
§ Mr. LuardHer Majesty's Government propose to make a contribution to the European Youth Foundation in respect of 1978. The apportionment laid down in Resolution (72)23 is affected by the recent accession of the Governments of Greece and Portugal. The meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on 17th December 1976 discussed ways of compensating for a shortfall in the endowment for 1977 rather than future apportionment, which will be examined later this year.
