HL Deb 02 March 1977 vol 380 c728WA
Lord TREFGARNE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they expect the road works in Nine Elms Lane (outside the premises of the Thames Water Authority) to be complete; and when they were commenced.

Lord STRABOLGI

I understand that the roadworks to which the noble Lord refers are part of a major programme of maintenance to British Gas Corporation equipment in Nine Elms Lane, which commenced in October 1976. The Corporation advise that, to minimise traffic congestion in the area, the works are being phased in close consultation with the Metropolitan Police, and for this reason it is difficult to forecast a completion date.

House adjourned at seventeen minutes before eight o'clock.
