HC Deb 02 March 1977 vol 927 cc245-6W
Mr. Hannam

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the disabilities within the ICD code of recipients of the mobility allowance.

Mr. Alfred Morris

Statistics relating to the main relevant conditions of current recipients of mobility allowance are not used for medical or administrative purposes. They are maintained only under broad headings corresponding in the main to sections of the ICD code. On this basis the information, in rounded numbers, is as follows:

family, represented 2.09 per cent. of average earnings. Percentages for other EEC countries cannot be determined in the absence of corresponding earnings figures.

Information is not available to determine the rates of family allowances as a percentage of the amount of social assistance payable to a single adult. The rate of United Kingdom supplementary benefit payable to a single adult varies according to his circumstances; social assistance benefits in the other EEC countries are administered locally and are often subject to local rules and conditions.
