§ Mr. BishopInformation on fob prices of cheese in New Zealand and details of transport arrangements and costs are not readily available. The New Zealand cheese now being sold was imported some months ago at a price, including monetary compensatory amounts, equivalent to between 30.8p and 33.9p per lb. It incurred an EEC net variable levy of between 7.5p and 4.4p per lb. The first-hand price now being charged is equivalent to about 40.7p per lb. and the retail price during January averaged 51.6p per lb.
