HC Deb 01 March 1977 vol 927 c183W
Mr. George Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many young persons have benefited from the work experience programme at the latest available date in (a)Great Britain, (b)the Northern Region and (c)Mid-Northumberland local employment areas, respectively.

Mr. Golding

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that by 19th February, 5,547 young people were known to have started on work experience schemes including 768 in the Northern Region. No figures are available on take-up of places for the Mid-Northumberland local area, but it is known that 20 places are available in the Morpeth constituency.
