HC Deb 01 March 1977 vol 927 cc155-6W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Industry with how many sections of British industry his Department has been discussing planning agreements; and with what results to date.

Mr. Cryer

As has been announced, planning agreement discussions have been taking place with four companies in the process plant field, two in the turbo-generator field and with two motor vehicle manufacturers. A statement will be laid before the House whenever a planning agreement has been concluded.

Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many European Community countries negotiate planning agreements of the nature he now seeks; subjects, including matters of procurement policy. An internal review on public sector purchasing policy for computers by the Civil Service Department is currently in progress. The Government's decisions will be announced on completion.
