§ Mr. Parkasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is his estimate of the coal in the new Warwickshire coalfield; and whether these reserves can be exploited from existing mines at Daw Mill and Coventry.
§ Mr. EadieSome 100 million tons of general purpose coal have been added to the reserves for Daw Mill and Coventry collieries as a result of recent exploration. Reserves of a comparable quantity are reckoned to extend further south towards Kenilworth, but exploration in this area is incomplete, and no plans can yet be made concerning their future exploitation. Plans are, however, being considered for exploiting the additional reserves available to Daw Mill and Coventry collieries. These could include the construction of a new drift entry at Daw Mill.
