Between the first quarter of 1974 and the fourth quarter of 1976 real personal disposable income is estimated to have fallen by about 1 per cent. On the basis of real national disposable income, which is available only on a half-yearly basis, there was a rise of nearly 3 per cent., between the first half of 1974 and the second half of 1976; on the same half-yearly comparison real personal disposable income rose by 1 to 1½ per cent. I regret that separate estimates for Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom are not available.
