HC Deb 27 June 1977 vol 934 cc48-9W
Mr. John

Moore asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) further to his answer to the hon. Member for Croydon, Central, Official Report, 20th June, c. 344, on moneys expended at the new Government Press Centre during the recent 1977 conference for six months on what the £20,750 was spent;

(2) further to his answer to the hon. Member for Croydon, Central, Official Report, 20th June, c. 344, on the Government Press Centre, what moneys have been expended at the Government Press Centre on each conference so far in 1977.

Mr. Marks

Most of the PSA works carried out in the Press Centre were required for all three major conferences —EEC, NATO and Commonwealth Heads of Government—and it is not therefore possible to attribute specific facilities to individual conferences. The figure of £20,750 represents a notional apportionment only. The total estimated PSA expenditure directly attributable to the six-month period of the 1977 conferences is £202,000.
