§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Energy, since an estimate of the effect of the building of the Drax B power station on the closure of existing power stations for the purpose of estimating effects on the coal burn was given in answer to a Question by the hon. Member for Rushcliffe on 15th June 1977, why it was not possible to estimate the effect of the building of Drax B for the purpose of estimating likely reductions in manpower in answer to a Question from the hon. § Mr. EadieAs my right hon. Friend informed the hon. Member on 16th June —[Vol. 933, c.219]—the CEGB believes that the effect of Drax B on the closure of existing plant, and hence on job opportunities in the electricity supply industry, could only be finally assessed in the mid-1980s.
