§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for Energy what are the latest figures for the numbers and value of discounts granted under the Government's electricity discount scheme; and what is the last date on which those eligible may apply.
§ Mr. BennUp to 10th June, claims from some 1½ million households to a total value of £10½3 million had been reported to Departments. Post offices in Great Britain will cease to issue discount vouchers on Friday 1st July. My right hon. Friend will make a separate announcement about the arrangements for Northern Ireland. I would urge any recipients of supplementary benefit or family income supplement who are eligible and who have not yet claimed their discount to do so in the few days still remaining.
