HC Deb 23 June 1977 vol 933 c558W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what additional resources have been allocated to the Scottish Development Agency since it was given its initial budget of £200 million.

Mr. Gregor MacKenzie

During the passage of the legislation to set up the Agency, £200 million was our estimate of expenditure over a period of five years, and this is reflected in the limit contained in Section 13 of the SDA Act 1975. Actual provision of funds is regulated by Parliament through annual Supply Estimates in the normal way. The provision so far proposed for the current financial year, including borrowing, was increased as a result of decisions taken last summer and is now £58.2 million.
