asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is now able to confirm the interim green belt between Redditch and Birmingham following the announcement of his decision on the future population of Redditch.

While the approved structure plans endorse the application of green belt policies in this area, precise boundaries will be defined in local plans; these are awaited. The local planning authority are expected to give priority to the preparation and adoption of plans for those areas where growth has been approved in the structure plans.
