§ Mr. Merlyn ReesNew entrants are attested as constables before they commence any training. The numbers joining with the figures of wastage requested are given in the table below. No details are available centrally of the numbers belonging to individual forces who complete initial training.
on 13th May—[Vol. 931, c. 622.]—no person has been admitted from Cyprus as a refugee. Information regarding the numbers of Cypriots who, having arrived here after the outbreak of fighting in Cyprus, have since been required to leave and whose homes are in Turkish occupied territory, is not readily available and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. As my hon. Friend is aware, we do not expect citizens of 505W Cyprus who are of Turkish national origin to return to the Greek-held part of the island, nor do we expect those of Greek origin to return to the Turkish-held part.
