HC Deb 23 June 1977 vol 933 cc508-9W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will issue an instruction to restaurants, cafeterias and hotels to specify on menus the contents of non-fresh cream.

Mr. Strang

No. Our food law does not at present require that foods listed on menus must be accompanied by an indication of their ingredients or constituents. The Food Standards Committee is carrying out a review of our food labelling law. My right hon. Friend, the Minister, will decide whether any further action is necessary when we have the Committee's advice.
