HC Deb 23 June 1977 vol 933 c500W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, as part of consideration of possible changes in broadcasting arising from the report of the Annan Committee, he will give attention to the desirability of improving the availability of Welsh language radio programmes in England; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John

For technical reasons some Welsh-language programmes provided for Wales can at present be received in some parts of England. It is for the broadcasting authorities to decide whether Welsh-language services should be provided for England.
