asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of Welsh schools was built before 1903.

According to a 10 per cent. sample survey of primary schools and a 20 per cent. sample of secondary schools carried out in 1975 the proportion of schools in Wales containing at least some pre-1903 teaching accommodation is estimated to have been:

Primary, 39 per cent.; Secondary, 23 per cent.; Overall Proportion, 37 per cent.
