HC Deb 21 June 1977 vol 933 c427W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister, in view of the information in his possession up to and including 27th May concerning the award of public honours, why he will not move to appoint a Select Committee to investigate the subject of the procedures for recommendation for the award of public honours.

The Prime Minister

I see no necessity for such an inquiry.

Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister why he will not invite the right hon. Baroness Summerskill to meet him to discuss matters connected with the procedures concerning the recommendation for the award of public honours and proposals for altering the present procedures.

The Prime Minister

I see no need for such a meeting.
