§ 44. Mr. Wyn Robertsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied with current provision for the care of the elderly.
§ Mr. MoyleI am satisfied that within the resources available at present health and social service authorities are doing their utmost to provide satisfactory care for the elderly. As indicated in the consultative document "Priorities for Health and Personal Social Services in England", the Government are giving priority to the development of services for the elderly, especially domiciliary services. Additionally, the community at large has an important role to play in providing support to elderly people, and this is one of the reasons why my right hon. Friend launched the Good Neighbour Campaign last November.
