HC Deb 20 June 1977 vol 933 cc390-1W
Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many individual dwellings owned by the Metropolitan Police have been empty for a continuous period of more than 12 months.

Dr. Summerskill

Of a total of approximately 4,200 houses and flats owned by the Receiver for the Metropolitan Police District, 91 have currently been empty for one year or more. 21 of these are married quarters—13 of which are at present structurally unsound—six are being sold, 34 are held for the redevelopment of police and court buildings and are unfit for habitation and 30 are being adapted for single officers' accommodation.
