With regard to health and social services boards, a number of medical and dental consultants are included in the membership of their employing board. Dentists, doctors and pharmacists working in general practice are also included in the board membership. Representations have been made by trade unions and staff associations regarding the appointment to the boards of additional members drawn from staff working in health and social services. These representations are under consideration.
