§ Mrs. Jegerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what arrangements he is making to ensure a sufficiency of pre-registration posts to meet the projected increase in medical school output.
§ Mr. MoyleMy Department organised a conference on this subject last year, and a working party of representatives of health authorities, universities and the Health Departments has been set up to monitor progress. It is for health authorities, rather than my Department, to create posts. Authorities have recently been reminded of this. The Department is collecting detailed information and is co-ordinating the efforts of authorities to ensure that there will be sufficient posts.
